Niceties of Nice

To appear beautiful,
What vile things we do!
To get ourselves taken in
How much we give in
Suppressing truth,
Glorifying falsity,
Singing in the praise of deceit,
Laughing at sincerity,
Holding up virtue to disparage
Promises as sticky tentacles
All this we do blatantly
To pass off as beautiful
Acceptable in society at a price
Baring niceties of nice.
